Panadero:  Andalusian Stallion

I wanted to share some awesome pictures of a show in October.  Panadero and I went to a schooling dressage show at Creek Hollow ranch in Ramona.  I have been riding him, owned by Lisa Alley-Zarcades since January.  He is an amazing horse that is full of life.   We entered the training level Test 1 and 2.  The first test we did, we were both pretty nervous, but our scores were ok for a first, 62.6%.  The second test I could feel him way more relaxed.  We got a 70.35%!  I am so proud of him.  Not bad for our first show.

At the age of 32, Timber had to be put down. He had broken his leg due to brittle bones.  He must have been getting up or down during the night, for there was no signs of trauma.   For the last 3 years he fought the battle of lymphosarcoma, a cancer that attacks your lymphatic  system. He could not eat hay and was given mush twice a day.  He still acted like a 2 year old.   He played and ran in the pasture until the last few months.  He was a great teacher and also the greatest horse baby sitter I could ever hope for.  We liked to call him uncle T.  Anytime I would wean a horse, he was the one.  He really loved the babies and human kids too.  The last year he obtained his best friend Buster, a stallion, who he would cry for when he wasn’t around him.   They were seen many times scratching each other.  He was my horse that brought me to Parelli.   I will forever love and miss him.

Following are some articles that I have written about my time spent at the Parelli Center:
